Sim racing to real motorsport
Several drivers have moved from sim competition into real racing through scholarship and academy pathways. Simulation transfers circuit knowledge, racecraft, and procedural discipline, but real racing still requires seat time, licensing, physical conditioning, and funding. Simulators do not by themselves make anyone a safer road driver.

Realistic pathways
Structured competitions, manufacturer academies, karting crossover, and team development programmes are the credible routes. Isolated fast laps rarely produce an opportunity by themselves.
BIR's own case study
BIR members carried their preparation culture into touring-car competition across endurance and shorter-format races, with podium finishes recorded in contemporary coverage. The transfer was in method — data, preparation, teamwork — as much as in driving.
